Light for the World  is a European confederation of national development NGOs aiming at an inclusive society. We are committed to saving eyesight, improving the quality of life, and advocating for the rights of persons with disabilities in the underprivileged regions of our world.

Cataract Surgery
An astounding 285 million people in the world are living with a visual impairment. 39 million are blind and 246 million have low vision. An estimated 19 million children are affected, 12 million due to refractive errors alone, a condition that could be easily diagnosed and corrected. However, cataract remains the leading causes of blindness in the world. Over the last 25 years, Light for the World  has made over 500,000 cataract operations possible.

Community Based Rehabilitation
Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR) is increasingly being recognised as a highly effective inclusive development strategy. CBR not only provides life-changing rehabilitation to individuals, it also helps to reduce poverty, equalise opportunities and promote the inclusion of persons with disabilities in their communities and the wider society.
